Calcutta Business School launched the International Study Tour for the second year PGDM students with the objective of providing them an opportunity to acquire valuable insights about international business and management practices in other countries. This was felt necessary because many of our PGDM students get jobs in MNCs or their subsidiaries or associate companies in India. Given this placement scenario, it was felt that our students would be able to perform more effectively if they were provided an “immersive experience” in another country.
The International Study Tour was made mandatory for all the students and was sponsored by the School. It was designed in collaboration with Taylor’s University, Malaysia during the period September 23, 2017 to October 1, 2017. The specific objectives of the International Study Tour were to provide a cross-cultural exposure, to learn from faculty members of a top university in Malaysia and to get a glimpse into how businesses are run there.

Several professors of Taylor’s Business School as well as the Head of the European Union, Ms. Maria Castillo Fernandez, Mr. Kenny Goh, CEO of Macro Kiosk, Prof, J.S. Perry Hobson the Pro-Chancellor- Global Engagement, and Prof. Jonathan Winterton, Executive Dean among others addressed the students. The students also had an opportunity to have a quick tour of the city.
