• Hosted the 44th Annual Convention of Operation Research Society of India (ORSI) 2011 during January 6-8, 2012& Workshop on Operations Research during January 4-5, 2012

• The Convention included “International Conference on Operations Research for Sustainable Development in Globalized Environment”. Both these events were organized by ORSI, Calcutta Chapter in association with Calcutta Business School.

• In an endeavor to upgrade the Management Development & Research Centre (MDRC) to its level of excellence and to make it industry focussed, Calcutta Business School brought in renowned industry leader Dr Goutam Sengupta as Chairman of MDRC. Dr Sengupta heads Videocon operations in Eastern India and has got distinction in turning around sick industrial units to vibrant entitities by application of management development tools and techniques. He is currently Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of KAIL Limited (Videocon Group) and also the Chairman of Westinghouse Saxby Farmer Ltd, a State Government Enterprise.

• Dr. I.N. Chatterjee visited CBS and addressed students on "Oil, Economy and Business". Dr. Chatterjee is Director of Jindal Drilling and Industries Ltd. and former director of a several public sector enterprises.
